A tank printer with an office job

The useful distinction here is the combination of bottle-fed ink and office conveniences. Ethernet allows a permanent network connection, while Wi-Fi serves a household that prints from several devices. That makes the 7602 easier to place in a shared working area rather than beside one particular laptop.

Think through who will replenish ink and paper. A shared printer works best when someone owns those small tasks instead of everyone discovering an empty tray at the same deadline.

Good paper capacity, with a scanning limit

HP specifies a 250-sheet input, automatic print duplex and a 35-sheet feeder. Those features suit recurring invoices, lesson packs and reports. They do not turn the feeder into a duplex scanner: two-sided originals still require additional handling.

The flatbed remains the sensible route for a bound page or fragile receipt. If your incoming paperwork is regularly two-sided, the effort saved by a different scanning mechanism may outweigh the appeal of tanks.

Evaluate bottles over your actual workload

The ownership argument starts with replacement bottle costs and realistic output, not the largest included-ink headline. Compare expenditure over the period you expect to keep the machine, allowing for photographs and dense graphics that use more ink than short letters.

Do not buy a tank printer simply to avoid thinking about supplies. Correct bottle identification, careful refilling and model-specific transport instructions still matter, particularly if the printer will move between rooms or premises.

The purchase check that decides it

Before ordering, make a list of ten typical jobs and mark which involve two-sided scanning. If that task is rare, the 7602 offers an appealing balance of refillable supplies and practical paper handling. If it appears every day, compare a duplex-scanning office all-in-one.

Also measure access to the lid, trays and refill points. Choose the 7602 because its whole workflow fits the space, rather than accepting an awkward position to obtain a particular ink system.

When to look elsewhere

  • Very occasional printing
