Brother MFC-J6955DW review

Check both directions of the page

Some printers can produce a large sheet but cannot scan an original of the same size. The MFC-J6955DW is relevant when larger incoming originals are part of the task, because its documented capture path reaches 11 by 17 inches. That can matter for plans, spreadsheets and annotated layouts. Confirm the exact media and duplex limits in the manual rather than assuming the largest format supports every automatic function.

Multiple trays should reduce interruptions

Two 250-sheet main trays and a separate multipurpose path give the office several ways to keep stock ready. Decide which paper belongs in each location and create corresponding presets. Large-format jobs are particularly vulnerable to incorrect scaling or paper selection. Check a single page before a long run, especially when the document is being reduced, expanded or printed from an application with its own page-size settings.

Plan a proper document station

This is substantial hardware, and its working footprint includes extended paper routes, access to supplies and room for someone handling originals. Do not choose a cabinet based only on closed dimensions. Give finished large sheets a clean place to land and make confidential output easy to collect. Network options help sharing, but responsibility for scan destinations, permissions and replenishment should remain clear within the team.

Our editorial recommendation

Choose the MFC-J6955DW when larger printing and duplex capture solve recurring office tasks. Understand that INKvestment Tank uses cartridges rather than refill bottles, and include the correct regional supplies in the budget. Our conclusion is based on Brother’s specifications and workflow analysis. We have not physically tested large-paper feeding, image quality, scanning accuracy or operating costs, so the documented breadth should not be mistaken for independently measured production performance.
