Start with the problem and the exact compatibility list, then choose the accessory.
Check the exact model before ordering
Match an accessory’s compatibility list to the complete product number. A family name or similar-looking case is not enough for trays, batteries, adapters or maintenance parts. Use the manufacturer’s supported accessory list when a mechanical or electrical connection is involved.
Choose cables for the actual ports
Check the printer and computer ends of a USB cable, including any required adapter. For a network cable, confirm the printer has Ethernet rather than assuming every office model does. Do the port check before rearranging the workspace.
Try the low-cost workflow change first
A better paper choice, an organized output area or a suitable saved print preset may solve the problem without a hardware upgrade. For an additional tray or optional unit, verify installation instructions and supported media before committing.
