Save ink by avoiding unwanted output and choosing settings appropriate to each job.
Fix the document before printing it
Use preview to select the needed pages, remove empty sheets and check scaling. For web pages, a reader or print-friendly view can remove navigation and decorative elements. A corrected file saves more than repeatedly printing a page you cannot use.
Choose an appropriate quality mode
Use a draft or economical setting for internal material when its output is readable. Keep higher-quality settings for the jobs that need them. Verify whether a grayscale setting uses black ink alone on your model; the label does not always describe the ink mixture.
Avoid well-meant maintenance waste
Do not run cleaning cycles on a schedule when output looks correct. Use a diagnostic page and the model’s troubleshooting process when quality changes. Keep replacement cartridges sealed until needed, and use the power button for a complete printer shutdown.
